  在耐心向导引领下，我磕磕绊绊地摸索着完成了一系列思维实验，领略了（二十年前）充满想象力和探索精神的宏微观盛景，再次致敬那伟大而又浪漫的科学精神！忽然很想知道现在的M理论又发展到了哪里，那些卷缩的小球形态，还有宇宙大爆炸留下的太空遗迹，我们都找到了吗？

  To whatever extent they and their world can be reduced to a matter of particles or fields and their interactions, they feel diminished by that knowledge. I would not try to answer these critics with a peptalk about the beauties of modern science. The reductionist worldview is chilling and impersonal. It has to be accepted as it is, not because we like it, but because that is the way the world works.
