  回顾意指系统的历史，特别是艺术、宗教和仪式的历史，我们可以注意到，这些意指系统中都出现了碎片的现象，尽管这些现象或不为人知或迅速被融进一种更加公共化的意指系统中，但都指向了意义生成的过程。巫术、萨满教、神秘主义、狂欢节、令人费解的诗歌，都凸显了社会化用语的局限，同时也验证了社会化话语中被压抑的成分——超越了主体和用于交流的语言结构的过程。然而，在何种历史时刻，社会交换可以容忍语言“诗性的”或者“晦涩的”形式，甚至使其成为一种必要的话语方式？在何种情形之下，这类晦涩的话语可以打破社会业已形成的意指实践的边界，并与社会经济变革，甚至最终与革命呼应？又在何种情况下，这类话语会走入死胡同，成为一种调剂品，而社会秩序则利用这种神秘主义的色彩进行扩张，使其自身变得更加灵活，从而得以日益繁荣？
