函数和图像

  现在我们理解了，只要函数是由分式定义的，就必须将注意力集中于会使分母为零的那些自变量的值上。在研究一个函数的行为以及作出它的图像时，并非所有的自变量的取值都是同等重要的在函数 y = 1 /（3x^2 - 1）的情形中，我们看到了让函数没有定义的那些“特殊点”的重要性。大多数情形下，在函数作图中，主要的工作是找出对于所给函数具有重要意义的那些自变量的值，并研究函数在这些值附近的行为。在进行这样的分析之后，为了将图像完成，通常我们只需要在这些特征点之间再找一些中间值就够了.
