  一个人既不能独立转移风气，也该在消极方面有所自守，邦同作弊，赞助越出常轨的事儿总可以免了吧。If it is beyond one’s capacity to single-handedly stem(堵住 阻止) the prevailing（普遍的） evils, one should at least be self-discipline so as not to make matter worse.我毫无成就，样样不长进，我可不愿与任何人易地而处，无论长期的或是暂时的。为了走一趟路，必须易地而处，在我总觉着像被剥夺了什么似的。I am just myself, an ordinary man with no urge to do better, so I hate to change places with anybody else, whether for a while or for good. To change place just for the sake of a trip would make me feel like being deprived.

Often at this moment, I’ll feel at once happy and sad--like an old lady suddenly fishing out from her drawer or chest a photo of her taken in the bloom of her youth.学校教育给我们的好处不但只是灌输知识，最大的好处恐怕还在给与我们求友的机会上The imparting of knowledge is not the sole advantage of school education. Its greatest advantage is perhaps the opportunity it affords us for making friends.
