内容简介：
《社会科学中的研究设计》重点介绍了运用于政治科学领域的研究设计，以定性研究设计为主题，但同样适用于其他社会科学学科的学生，并且对定量取向的学者也有一定的启发意义。作者整合了定性研究和定量研究所采用方法的共性，目的是提供有效的描述性或因果性推论。作者还进一步指出，定量研究的科学推论原则和建模方法也能帮助定性研究者提供得出更有逻辑、更可靠的推论。
加里·金，美国哈佛大学阿尔伯特·魏斯赫德三世(Albert J.Weatherhead III)学院教授，曾是美国国家科学院、美国统计学学会、美国科学促进会、美国艺术及科学学院、政治学方法论学会及美国政治及社会科学学院的院士或成员。其研究主要集中在社会科学方法论领域。
罗伯特·基欧汉，普林斯顿大学伍德罗·威尔逊学院教授，曾出任美国国际关系学会及美国政治科学学会的会长。其研究集中在国际关系领域。
悉尼·维巴，哈佛大学政府学院荣休教授，在哈佛执教35年并曾出任政府系系主任、政府学院副院长等行政职位，也曾担任为哈佛大学出版社董事会主席及美国政治科学学会会长。其研究集中在美国及比较政府研究领域。
